Business Support Team – Research Coordinator
As Oxford’s Federation for General Practice and Primary Care, we are privileged to be situated amongst world-leading research programmes run by internationally renowned Universities, Academic Departments, Research Networks and NHS Foundation Trusts. With over 220,000 patients registered with our member NHS Practices, OxFed has a large patient population from which to recruit to research.
The Growing REsearch and At-scale Trials (GREAT) is a new project which aims to develop the infrastructure and skills to enable the federation and its member practices to take advantage of the considerable research opportunities available in Oxford. In the first year of our project we are looking to establish a core OxFed research team consisting of a lead GP, nurse and administrator to support the delivery of primary care research activities at neighbourhood and city level. Through developing strong working relationships with our evolving primary care networks, local NIHR Clinical Research Network, academic institutions, research practices, and other stakeholders we plan to develop and deliver studies that cannot be undertaken effectively by individual practices. Through this project we hope to influence the development of innovative research projects in primary care, in the areas of health service delivery and public health as well as wider health and social care, contributing to the evidence base and advancement of health and care in Oxford City and beyond.
