GP Clinical Lead - OCNS
Since 2016, OxFed have been working with a broad range of colleges in the University of Oxford. Providing nursing services as well as clinical supervision and support for college-employed nurses, our team also works in partnership with Colleges and College Doctors to develop and deliver shared protocols, ways of working, training, development and continuous improvement.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic Doctor with a keen interest in student health to provide clinical leadership in the development and delivery of OxFed’s College Nurse Service. You will have the opportunity to take our offer from strength to strength, working with Colleges to understand how we can work together to help meet their students’ needs in new and different ways.
To undertake this challenging and rewarding role, you will need to be an appropriately registered General Practitioner who is able to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues and multi-professional teams. This includes the teams involved in supporting the delivery of the federation’s patient services as well as member practices, commissioners, clients, other providers and patient representatives.
The role requires a self-reliant, pro-active and motivated professional who enjoys working with colleagues, leading change and tackling problems. Effective leadership and change management skills with the ability to prioritise your workload will be essential for this role. You must have the ability to use Microsoft Office and clinical IT systems, plus good written and verbal communication skills. The post will carry considerable responsibility in ensuring that national guidelines and regulations are followed, service performance is maintained and that clinical governance arrangements are functioning effectively.
We would encourage clinicians from a range of backgrounds to apply for this role, including salaried GPs, locums and First5s. Consideration will be given to motivated candidates who show ability and a desire to develop their career but who may not necessarily have had previous experience of leading service developments and delivery. Mentoring, training opportunities and support will be provided.
We reserve the right to close the position once suitable application have been received
